Public transport in Prague

The public transport tariff is valid on all Metro, tram and bus routes as well as on the funicular in the capital of Prague. There is a time and change tariff except for the 15-minutes ticket which is a no-change one. The period of validity starts at the moment of punching or stamping the ticket and expires after the elapse of an appropriate time interval. The passenger is obliged to punch or stamp the single ticket or the the short-time season ticket properly, immediately after entering the vehicle or the Metro area for the first time.

The ticket is to be inserted in the stamping machine in the arrow direction (arrow upwards). A false punched or stamped ticket is invalid. When changing the routes, the ticket is not to be stamped again. The validity time also includes the interruption time for change. If the ticket validity expires during the ride, the passenger is obligedto punch or stamp another ticket.
