THE CZECH PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

The Czech Philharmonic has enjoyed unprecedented success for a number of years now.  It became the focus of attention on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Antonín Dvořák, who conducted its first ever concert and is currently the best known Czech composer worldwide. The Czech Philharmonic continues to give proof of its artistic excellence and the distinctive nature of its sound.

The Czech Philharmonic regularly spends over two months of the year traversing the globe to applause in the Carnegie Hall, and enthusiastic audiences in Florida, to the London Proms, Spanish cities and the Baltic states.  Its Japanese recordings have been nominated for the Recording of the Year title, German critics are talking about the “rebirth of the orchestra’s Czech sound”, the South American continent witnessed another successful comeback after 2000, the overwhelming interest of audiences in the Taiwanese capital, Taipei has meant that two concerts will be held on one day.
