T ? 2 ) \3 N, The interview*Daniel Kennedy is 4 years old and he has just arrived with his Mum at his child care centre. He is generally very sociable and plays immediately with the other children when dropped off. Today, however, he holds onto Mum s leg, cries loudly, and will not let her go. Mum is becoming upset by this and some other children begin to cry. Mrs Bennett, the centre director, takes hold of Daniel and says, Just go quickly. His mother does so and Daniel became more upset and hits Mrs Bennett. Do you agree with the idea that there are no right answers in child care practice? Do think that anybody s opinion is as good as another? How do you go about learning? How do you know when you have learnt something? How do you think children learn? What is interesting is the extent to which these students described a personal commitment to children and their families and a reliance on their own personal beliefs in the assessment of experts in their practice. Students talked about how they would critically analyse the practices of others (although not necessarily analysing theory epistemological foundation); an awareness of multiple perspectives (their own, children, parents and staff interpersonal foundation); and an articulation of how their personal beliefs are significant in the development of their professional knowledge (intrapersonal foundation). 0 _ H 0޽h ? 3380___PPT10. %rH07E mQ0kKFSs"Nz_%N17( 0 H 8mailto:j.brownlee@qut.edu.au8mailto:j.brownlee@qut.edu.auBmOh+'0T hp PowerPoint PresentationPublications UnitPC46Microsoft PowerPoint@`%@Ⱥ@PYGSg )' """)))UUUMMMBBB999|PP3f333f3333f3ffffff3f̙3ff333f333333333f33333333f33f3ff3f3f3f3333f33̙33333f333333f3333f3ffffff3f33ff3f3f3f3fff3ffffffffff3ffff̙fff3fffff3fff333f3f3ff3ff33f̙̙3̙ff̙̙̙3f̙3f333f3333f3ffffff3f̙3f3f3f333f3333f3ffffff3f̙3f3ffffffffff!___wwwss4'A x(xKʦ """)))UUUMMMBBB999|PP3f3333f333ff3fffff3f3f̙f3333f3333333333f3333333f3f33ff3f3f3f3333f3333333f3̙33333f333ff3ffffff3f33f3ff3f3f3ffff3fffffffff3fffffff3f̙ffff3ff333f3ff33fff33f3ff̙3f3f3333f333ff3fffff̙̙3̙f̙̙̙3f̙3f3f3333f333ff3fffff3f3f̙3ffffffffff!___wwweeeeeeeeeeeeekeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee՜.+,D՜.+,D On-screen Show ȩɯ릜P ArialDefault DesignExploring beliefs about learning and knowledge of students in child care training programs: Beliefs about children’s learning and personal epistemology Background The studyThe interview!Findings - complex evaluativism #Findings - practical evaluativism Findings - subjectivism Findings – objectivism Discussion Fonts UsedDesign Template Slide Titles 4 8@ _PID_HLINKSA mailto:j.brownlee@qut.edu.au"mailto:g.boulton-lewis@qut.edu.au_0PCPC !"#$%&'()*+,-./0123456789:;<=>?@ABCEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ[\]^_`abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz{|}~Root EntrydO)@PicturesVCurrent User&SummaryInformation(TPowerPoint Document(DDocumentSummaryInformation8xailto:g.boulton-lewis@qut.edu.auBmailto:g.boulton-lewis@qut.edu.au/ 0LDArial_> 00TT-ܖx: 0ܖ@ . @n?" dd@ @@`` @g7 -CXYZ[\]^_a,R$ɽx9 (J_#V 0AA 5f@8ʚ;ʚ;g4YdYdDx: 0ppp@ <4BdBd 0T<4dddd 0Th___PPT2001D<4X@0___PPT10 pp. 4Exploring beliefs about learning and knowledge of students in child care training programs: Beliefs about children s learning and personal epistemology " J.
